Dr. Peter Kienzle


Research Interests

Peter Kienzle has an interest in the simple housing and work spaces of the Roman times, regional differences of these buildings considering the natural resources, climate conditions, requirements for the usage and traditions. Furthermore, he does research on building techniques, building materials and also experiments with practical application of these techniques. Furthermore, Peter Kienzle conducts research on Roman construction techniques, materials, as well as technical aspects of constructing in general (engineering).

The second focus of Peter Kienzle’s research is on aspects of the preservation of cultural heritage, reconstruction as a way of interpretation and presentation of archaeological structures, as well as the perception and communication between researcher and visitor.
