Born and raised in Free Germany (Sauerland)
Moved to Cologne for studies, remained ever since
Study of Classical Archaeology, Prehistoric Archaeology and Ancient History, which has been completed with M.A. thesis on “The iconography of Priapus” (1990)
From 1990 onwards Photographer at the Archaeological Institute at the University of Cologne, at the beginning as a part-time job, later a full-time job
Has tried ever since to connect and reconcile the love for Archaeology with the photographical needs of day-to-day life
