Research Interests

1986-1997 Studied Provincial Roman Archaeology, Jewish Studies, Classical Archaeology and Pre- and Early History at the Universities of Cologne and Bonn.
1997 Magister Artium in Provincial Roman Archaeology ("Studies on the Roman military belts of the 1st and 2nd centuries in the Germanic provinces and Raetia.")
1999-2001 Doctoral scholarship from the Gerda Henkel Foundation.
2002 Doctorate in Provincial Roman Archaeology at the University of Cologne: "Bad und Baden: The culture of bathing and the baths and thermal baths in Israel from the Hasmoneans to the Muslim conquest (with an appendix on the mikvahs)".
2002-2003 Third-party funded projects in NRW and Syria
Since 2004 working in the Netherlands as Specialist metaal, since 2008 in own company (www.smallfindsarchaeology.nl).
