Travel to Cologne
By plane
From Cologne/Bonn airport:
The airport (CGN) is situated right outside of Cologne, but is well connected to the inner city. Once you land you can take a regional train from the airport's railway station (located at the lower level) to reach the city centre and the main railway station ("Köln Hauptbahnhof"). The ticket to the city center ("Preisstufe 1b") costs 3 Euros. You can take one of the trains listed below to reach the city centre from the airport:
- S19 (direction Düren or Sindorf)
- RE6 (direction Düsseldorf)
- RE8 (direction Mönchengladbach)
From Düsseldorf airport:
Düsseldorf airport (DUS) is a bit farther away. To get into the city of Cologne, you also need to take the train. There are two connections, but these are more expensive. The ticket to Cologne ("Preisstufe 5") costs 11,90 Euros. These lines will bring you to your destination:
- RE1 (direction Aachen)
- RE5 (direction Koblenz)
To reach the workshop venue from the main railway station ("Köln Hauptbahnhof"):
From the main railway station "Köln Hauptbahnhof" you can easily reach the venue via the urban rail services. There are two ways to get to the university. Either take the S18 (direction Schwadorf or Bonn) until you reach the station "Neumarkt". There you take the S9 (direction Sülz) until you reach the station "Weyertal". From there it is just a 3 minutes walk to the venue. Another possibility is to take the RE5 (direction Koblenz) until you reach the station "Köln Süd". From there you can either walk (12 minutes) or take the S9 (direction Sülz) until you reach the station "Weyertal".

The Institute of Archaeology
The workshop will take place at the Institute of Archaeology of the University of Cologne, which is situtated at the corner of Weyertal and Kerpener Straße in Cologne. The adress for your navigation app is Kerpener Str. 30, 50937 Cologne, but you have to use the entrance at Weyertal, as the navigation app will guide you to the back entrance. In the building, you take the stairs up to the second floor and enter a long corridor, which you have to follow until its end. In the middle of the corridor is a glass door, that we try to keep open. Should it be closed however, you will find a bell on the right side, that you can press to get buzzed in. At the end of the corridor, you will find Room 210 (CoDArchLab) on the left side. The workshop will take place here.
