The Bern Digital Pantheon Project

The Pantheon in Rome belongs to the most prominent and best-preserved monumental structures of antiquity. It was begun under Trajan in 110 AD and finished under his successor Hadrian. It was used as a church since the early Middles Ages and has thus been a constant point of interest for architects and researchers. Despite its meaning in architecture history, it has only been partly examined. A comprehensive documentation and examination of the structures has taken place as a part of a interdisciplinary research project, which is housed at the Karman Center for Advanced Studies of the University of Bern. The results were published as open source data for the research community.
